WhiteHouse Placement Cell, an initiative of HWIC, under Management Development Cell is formed with an objective to empower students to discover all sorts of creative means to multiply their limited advantages, to think outside the box, to see limitations not as obstacles but as portals to opportunities.
Himalayan WhiteHouse International College (HWHIC) established in 2001, envisioned as the center for excellence in education, has started its Graduate School of Management in 2005 and became the pioneer of launching Executive-MBA in Nepal. Additionally, it offers BBA, BA-Liberal Arts, BHM, and MBA under the School of Management whereas, the School of Science and Technology has been imparting BE-Civil and B-Tech in Biotechnology, BIT, BE Computer and BE Electronics and Communication.
The Cell vision is to “create efficient, effective and market-friendly human resources’ ‘. In aligning with its vision, the Cell’s major focus is connecting the students with the corporate sector through various measures and in the process engaging students in practical drills of management of skills and theoretical knowledge in real-world settings.
The Cell is responsible for conducting mega job fairs in regular intervals, business conferences, webinars, seminars, workshops, talk series, training programs, guest lecturers, and alumni meet among many purposes.
The Cell is entirely led by a team of graduate and undergraduate students under the guidance of a faculty member.
Tasks of the Cell
- Workshop, Seminar, and Training
The different workshops, seminars, and training programs that enhance the managerial aspect among students are conducted by the Cell to deal with the dynamic and complex business world. The students must be equipped with much-needed skills to create value and the Cell works on guiding industry-focused workshops and training to enrich the value among students.
The Placement Cell organizes career guidance programs for all the students starting from the first year. The cell arranges training programs like Mock Interviews, Group Discussions, Soft Skill Trainings and workshops, technical skills such as CV writings, Research Writings, Advance Excel Trainings, Digital Marketing workshops among many.
- Guest Lectures and Talk Series
The Cell organizes and manages the various talk series and guest lecture sessions in the relevant and market-driven topics to empower the students and get them in light of recent management development and trends. The Cell manages and creates an influential visiting faculty and resources person pool required for the talk series and guest lectures.
- Alumni Meet
On this glorious journey of 21 years, HWIC has been a prominent education hub for thousands of students and shaped 2500+graduates in this celebrated time period. The alumni meet is aimed to foster a sense of community among alumni. The Cell emphasizes reinforcing and connecting dots of alumni network with the conduct of annual alumni meet.
- Job and Internship Fair
The Cell jointly with BFIs and corporate houses carries out the campus placement event semi-annually on a mutually agreed date, time, and venue. Also, create internship opportunities for the graduates and under-graduates students’ aligning with the “College-Corporate Connect Program” of HWIC.
- Information Sharing
The information regarding vacancies, internships, and other opportunities that will be substantial for student career development in the local and global arena will be circulated through Cell’s social media platforms as well as informal communication platforms.
