Bachelor of Civil Engineering

Bachelor of Civil engineering is a four-year (VIII semesters) program with 145 credit hours. The course emphasizes on theoretical knowledge as well as practical knowledge in various infrastructure related subject like water supply, sanitary, irrigation, hydrology, engineering material, fluid mechanics, soil mechanics, foundation engineering, engineering geology, transportation engineering, hydropower engineering & so on. Civil engineering, known as the mother of all engineering, is the oldest, broadest, most suitable and useful of all engineering sciences.

Civil engineering is an exciting profession because, at the end, you can see the results of your work in the form of final product like completed bridge, high rise building, subway station or hydraulic damp or others. Major fields in Civil Engineering are Geo technical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resource engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, Urban Planning and so on.

Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways.
Civil engineering is traditionally broken into a number of sub-disciplines. It is considered the second-oldest engineering discipline after military engineering, and it is defined to distinguish non-military engineering from military engineering. Civil engineering takes place in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.
